Last night Ryder weighed a little under 6 lbs 6 oz. He is getting so big and looks so big. I know that's not very big considering 2 of Clayton's friends just had babies and are that size and one a pound bigger and they are new born and Ryder is a month old lol but to us it's big. Yesterday he looked so big to me and it's crazy how fast he is growing I can't believe he is already a month old.

So the sad/bad news. Ryder had a spell yesterday dang it so now he has to start over on his 7 day count down. So instead of today normally being day 3 it is now day 0. Awe man we were so excited I knew I shouldn't of gotten my hopes up but he has been doing so good I thought he was going to make it. Oh well I guess he's just meant to still be there. Keep trying bud your doing awesome.

Friday night Ryder gained weight again he is now between 6 lbs 3 oz and 6 lbs 4 oz so quite a bit in a day. He's eating like crazy now that he can eat when and how ever much he wants he thinks he's always hungry and eats a ton when he takes a bottle he does better with a bottle then breast feeding. Alright I'm excited and I hope I don't get my hopes up for nothing so Ryder is on his 7 day count down. Saturday was day 1 of 7. If he doesn't have any spells (stats dropping and not coming up on his own) in that 7 days he can come home :) yay so we are crossing our finger and hoping he will make the 7 days we believe in you bud you can do it. He's actually been doing really well the last few days so I hope he can keep it up. He is still on a little bit of oxygen when he eats but that's it. They will let him come home on oxygen but that's it. We didn't make it back to his Saturday night weighing so I'll let you know his weight for that night when I find out. So hope for the best that he can make it 7 more days without a bad day and then be able to come home I so hope so.

Also we hopefully close on our condo this week. I can't wait we are so excited. We are going to paint, put new carpet and new lighting in it before we move in. I hope we can get it done before little Ryder comes home so we don't have to move him twice but I don't think it will happen if he keeps doing as good as he is which is ok too cause we do want him home with us :) Well that's our exciting news for now. Keep your fingers crossed for little Ryder. Keep it up bud your awesome we all love you so much.

Growing Strong

So this outfit is one of the many we got when we went to Chicago and everything they had was 3-6 months. But yesterday Clayt said he needs his Cubs clothes so we took it down and put it on him lol it drowns him ha but he is still cute. My little preemie in 3-6 month old clothes haha.

It's been a few days since I've updated I hope I can remember everything that had gone on the last few days and in order this is very stressful and I seem to lose my mind a lot lately.

Ok lets see Ryder is still under the head box yay we really like the head box lol so anyways he is doing so good under there he has no more tubes not event he feeding tube. Yay good job Ryder. He has been right around 6 lbs the last few days and I don't see how because this kid eats a lot :) He gets fed orally every feeding now so no more NG tube that's great one step closer to getting home. He does really good with his breathing when he's eating from a bottle but when he's breast feeding he drops like crazy most the time he's a silly boy and doesn't know what he wants. But he has been on room air for the last few days and just needs the blow by when he eats well mostly just when he breast feeds lol. So all in all he's doing awesome he does so much better without that oxygen up his nose and last night they said they want to use that when he eats because he can go home on that but not the blow by ugh I was mad when they said that, his nose needs to heal it's not gonna get better if they shove it up there every three hours for feedings so dumb but whatever I guess they know more then me lol they can keep him until he is completely off oxygen fine with us lol we want him at 100% ha.

So Ryder is doing great and we are hanging in there we can't wait till he can come home. Clayt always says I can't wait till I can just come home from work and see my baby boy and not go to the hospital anymore. We are getting ready to close on our condo yay he said for sure by middle end of next week yay I can't wait. We are going to put new carpet paint and Clayt is going to put in can lights and other new lights in before we move in I'm excited to have our own place and make it how we want. I just hope we can get it all done before Ryder gets to come home so we don't have to move him twice.

Well that's all that has been going on we are all doing good just can't wait till we can spend time together at our home and not at the hospital. Keep up the good work Ryder and keep fighting through your doing awesome. We all love you so much and can't wait till you get to come home. Love ya bud.

So after Ryder's crazy hectic day yesterday he is doing so much better today. He had one spell today ( where he desats really low and can't come back up) and it was during his 8am feeding she said she was feeding him and he was doing good and then she burped him he let a big burp and then just went limp and quit breathing oh my goodness child I can't handle this stress lol so anyways she got him breathing again just by stimulation within a minute good no code team today. The nurse that was there today is one we love she's awesome and cares so much about him it's cute she always says Ryder is her favorite lol anyway she was talking to the Dr and asked if she could take the oxygen out and the NG tube out of his nose and put him back under the head box so he let her do that. When I got there he as under the head box and everything was out of his nose hallelujah and the NG tube was in his mouth looks sad but it's so much better then being in his nose. He sounded so much better he just does a ton better in that box we love it lol.

The test results came back on his CT scan and his head scan. Everything came back normal as it should be on his head scan. His CT scan they say just looks like everything he had in his left nostril was pushing over to his right and was blocking it and so that's why he was having issues with the breathing because he was doing great with nothing shoved up there today. His blood is also a little low so they think that might be a reason he's not breathing good because when your blood is low your just tired all the time and it's hard to keep the oxygen in so if that doesn't start getting higher then they will consider a blood transfusion if we allow it to happen which I think we will we just want anything to help him to get better. Hopefully this head box will work miracles again and the nurse today is hoping they will just leave him under it until he doesn't have to have the NG tube (feeding tube) at all. She's awesome I wish we could have her everyday I love how much she attention she gives him and how much she cares about him.

Obviously he was doing a ton better today because he nursed for a whole whopping 30 minutes holy crap that's awesome we can usually barely get him to do the full feeding of 10 minutes and yesterday he couldn't even do a full feeding. Oh and the whole time he was nursing he had NO oxygen and he only went down a few times and would bring himself right back up he was usually really high in his breathing stats that's awesome what did I tell ya that head box works miracles. I had asked them everyday since Saturday to put that head box back on him and they wouldn't listen finally Cindy (awesome nurse) was working and made them give it to him yay thanks Cindy your the best. When I left this evening his stats were high so she turned the oxygen pretty much off and he was still high yahoo that's awesome I hope he can start orally feeding every feeding and do good so he can get rid of the NG tube and then hopefully no more oxygen. Can you tell I'm really excited today lol I love days like this when he's doing awesome especially after days like yesterday it scares me when that happens. Well keep fighting buddy and I hope that nose will clear up we love you tons.

Bad Day

Ryder had a bad day yesterday poor little guy I felt so bad. It all started off with a head scan just to make sure his head is growing the way it should be and then he got a ct scan on his nose to see what's going on with it. We won't know any results until later today. Well I guess that really wore him out and then the nurse was feeding him a bottle and his breathing started going down so she stopped and he wouldn't come back up on his own like he usually does and then he started changing colors then his heart rate got really low so she had to call the response team people in to help bring him back up he didn't go completely down but he got really low poor guy I'm so glad I wasn't there when it happened. When I did finally get there his nose was so stuffy and he still kept desatting so they tried suctioning his nose and then changed his feeding tube to a smaller one to see if that would help it didn't do too much at the time and they let me try to breast feed him and he couldn't even handle that he just kept going down but he would bring himself back up but we just decided to finish feeding him through his tube and I couldn't even hold him since he was doing so bad :(

Later that night when Clayt and I both went there he was doing ok but they still wouldn't let me try to breast feed him since he still was jumping around with his breathing. We got to hold him a little bit I let Clayt hold him and I left and went and pumped and why I was gone he went down again and the nurse had to help get him back up to normal so Clayt had to put him back in his crib. So we didn't stay very long since we couldn't hold him and he wasn't doing good we just wanted him to sleep cause I think he was just so worn out from everything that was done to him. I really hope he is doing better today and hopefully we get the results we want to hear about his nose so we can know what is wrong with it and know what to do so the little guy can breath.

On a good note he gained weight he is now 6 lbs on the dot lol the night before he had lost weight but he made up for it yesterday. Even though he wasn't doing good he gained 4 ounces good job bud now if we can just get the whole breathing thing figured out. We love you bud keep fighting.

Mom and Dad's big boy

Sorry it's been a few days since I updated but it was a busy weekend. My parents came up here on Thursday night and they stayed with us Thursday and Friday night. They got here Thursday and we went to dinner and then went and saw baby Ryder. They both got to hold him for their first time they were so excited. The grandparents are the only ones we have let hold him still sorry all you Aunts who want to hold him :) When we weighed him Thursday he was about 5 lbs 8.5 oz so he didn't really gain much since Wed night. But he is still growing and getting so big so fast.

Friday I hung out with my parents and we went to the hospital to see Ryder for a few hours and then we went to Layton and looked at camp trailers man there were some nice ones wish we could afford one lol maybe some day :) We also went and looked at our condo again and decided on what all needed to be done to it. And I decided I really don't like the paint color that it through out the whole house lol so I guess we will be painting a lot more then we thought ha but oh well it will be fun ha. Friday night we went back and saw Ryder and when we weighed him he weighed 5lbs 11 oz so crazy he's just doing so good it's awesome. He is also eating orally almost every feeding now and does so good at it. So he gets a bottle almost every time I'm not there to feed him.

Saturday we didn't end up going to the hospital till about 3 or so that night because we were lazy all day. But it's ok we deserve a lazy day right? lol Clayton got to feed him with a bottle for the first time and they both did great dad learned quick and Ryder took it like a champ lol when we weighed him Saturday night we was 5 lbs 13 oz holy cow it's so crazy I can't believe it. I can't believe how much weight he gains each day it's so crazy and it's starting to show a little bit too you can see little rolls on him in some places it's so cute.

Sunday we didn't end up getting to the hospital till late again because we had another lazy day lol I love having lazy days with Clayt it doesn't happen very often and has soon has Ryder comes home it will never happen lol Well he was doing good and eating really good all day. They are still watching his stuffy nose and he just got off some nasal stuff and if he didn't start working after Monday then they were going to do x rays and see if it's just narrow in there and then see what to do for sure from there. Hopefully it's not too bad I feel so bad for the little guy and his poor nose. If they can figure out whats wrong and get it fixed then he will prob be able to go off oxygen because he would be able to breath so good if it wasn't for the blockage and I swear that oxygen makes it worse sometimes. They didn't weigh him when we were there so we don't know how much he weighed tonight but I'm sure he's 6lbs or pretty dang close to it but I'll let you all know. Keep up the good work bud we're all so proud of you we love you.

Update

He's so funny when he sleeps on Clayt. Clayt will have him laying straight up
and then he will move himself to this position every time it's so cute.

it on him yesterday and it barely fits him now lol my preemie isn't so
much a preemie anymore. :)

My little wiggle warm

Wow Ryder just keeps on growing I can't believe how big he is getting and how fast he is growing. Yesterday I breast fed him at his 2:00 and 8:00 feeding and he got his full feedings from it so he didn't need any through his NG Tube good job bud that's awesome. When we weighed him last night he weighed 5 lbs 8 oz holy cow where is my baby going is getting so big so fast I can't wait to bring him home and watch him grow more by me lol Oh and yesterday he was also out from under the head box and he's doing good without it his nose isn't as stuffy anymore. His right nostril has some blockage and so they are just going to watch it and wait till he gets older to see if he needs to get surgery on it lets hope it goes away :)

Today I went in earlier than I usually do and they were wanting to try and bottle feed him so I let them do that instead of me breast feeding him. He did so good with it the guy that comes in and works with the babies when they first start bottle feeding was so amazed with how good he did. He struggled with his breathing at the first of the feeding and then towards the middle and end he got the suck suck breath technique down and was doing awesome. They also upped his feedings today to 47ccs and he ate all of that from the bottle today that's so good. Good job bud keep up the good work. Grandma and Grandpa Munson are coming up today to see Ryder and they can't wait they haven't seen him since the first week he was born and he has changed so much since then he's going to look huge compared to the last time they saw him.
