Hiking

Sunday afternoon our friends invited us to go on a hike with them. The place we were going to go isn't open yet so we went on a different hike and then the kids threw rocks into the lake. Ryder was in heaven running up and down the hills with all the little boys. Range was in his stroller for some part then the trail was getting more rocky and hilly so Clayt ditched the stroller and carried him on his shoulders lol These boys love to be outside especially up in the mountains. Thanks for the invite guys we love having good friends in our new neighborhood.

17 months

Ranger Range turned 17 months a few days ago on the 18th. This kid has quite the personality he's pretty funny. He's still Mr grumpy pants but we sure do love him. Range loves his brother and wants to do everything he does. He thinks he's so big. Range will always try to climb on Ryder's bike and ride it. He loves to be outside and will play out there for hours if we let him. He loves to ride all his toy cars and trucks while he's out there. Range LOVES to give high fives. Last Friday at mine and Clayts softball game he would come into the dugout when we would come in from the field and give everyone fives it was the cutest thing. Range stayed in Blanding for a week without us a few weeks ago and he's still a mamas boy lol Range will still pretty much eat anything we give him. He loves strawberries and freaks out when he sees some in the grocery store. Range is saying a few more words. His most used and favorites are: mom, puppy, Lilly, gog (dog), ball, hot, baby, hi, and bye. He doesn't say much just points and grunts at everything. He knows what things are when I tell him to get his cup, blanket or binky he knows what I'm talking about. When I say it's night night time he'll grab all his stuff and start waving bye as we walk into his room.He calls everything puppies when a car passes he gets excited and says puppy lol. He still goes to sleep anywhere from 7-8pm and sleeps until 7-8am. He's in size 4 diapers, 12-18 month pants and mostly 18 month shirts. He's a busy boy and into EVERYTHING. He loves anything to do with balls and loves to hit the balls off of Ryder's tee. We love you Range and can't wait for you to start nursery next month ;)
Stole Clayts drink out of the garage. This boy will get his hands on any drink you always have to watch him.

T ball fun

Ryder had his first T ball practice and game last week. He was loving practice until about 5 minutes left and he was bored and ready to be done. I thought it's going to be a long season if he's already bored at a 30 minute practice lol. Saturday morning he had his first game and he was so excited. He loved everything about it and did so good. He got his real jersey half way through the game and his hat afterwards and wouldn't take them off. He wore them the rest of the day lol So glad he's liking it and will continue to like it through out the years.

First time batting at his game

Range is obsessed with ball and couldn't wait to get his hand on the ball and bat. Dad helped him when the game was over. He loves it.

We were home for about 20 minutes after the game and the boys had to play more ball before we left :)

Ryder

Wanted to write down things that have been going on with Ryder and to let my family know exactly whats going on without calling everyone :)

As we all know Ryder was born at 31 weeks and had problems with eating and breathing while he was in the NICU. Once he got that down he was able to come home. Ryder has always been a picky eater and wouldn't eat much. If we were to look back on previous posts from the past 4 years his foods would be about the same as they are now. Every time I asked his pediatrician about it he would tell me it's normal and that he'll grow out of it. Ryder isn't just picky, when he tries new foods he will gag and sometimes throw up. He takes 30 minutes to an hour to eat and the foods he used to eat he no longer eats half of them so his diet is not very healthy. I took him in for another well checkup a few months ago and we were seeing a new pediatrician since his other one had retired. Anyway I asked him about it and he told me some things I could try and we had tried all he said to do. He gave me info for a speech therapist who specializes in eating disorders and told me to give her a call if I felt like we weren't getting any progress with what we were doing at home. Ryder has been the same size for the last 2 years. Clayt and I talked about it and decided to call her and make an appointment. We were able to get in a week later.

With him being premature she said that this was very common and if we would of known that when we left the NICU we wouldn't be where we are today. Clayt and I were both frustrated that nobody told us this and that our other pediatrician told us it would go away pretty much. She did a few different things with him with different foods and drinks. We go see here every other week for an hour. We have now seen her 3 times and I can see an improvement in him already. I know it's going to take some time since this has been going on for 4 1/2 years. Ryder has eaten a cheese casadia  a few times now without gagging, he drink 4-8 ounces of chocolate milk a day. (He hasn't had milk since he was 2) he is starting to eat foods he used to eat but quit eating, he has tried, potatoes, steak and oranges but gagged with all of them. It's a work in progress but I know that this is going to work and that he will be able to eat more foods some day.

His therapist also wanted to rule out all the medical factors that could be causing him to be like this. We have met with an ENT and he will be getting his adenoids and tonsils out on May 19th. He has hyper sleep apnia that they want to get taken care of and then hoping once those are out that can help him with his swallowing and trying new food. Who would of thought all this ties in with how you eat ha He also needed a swallow test to make sure his food was going down the right tube and into his stomach. He had that done today and it was pretty cool to watch the liquid and food go down his throat on screen. He also drank the stuff they needed him to drink and eat without a fight and gagging. That's a pretty big deal. Everything looked good with that so we can rule out swallowing being an issue. He does hold his food and water in his throat for awhile but I kind of already knew that ;)

P.S Primary Childrens in Riverton is AMAZING they have been so good to us and they are so kid friendly Ryder feels so comfortable there. I absolutely love it and would recommend it to anyone :)

Hopefully in a few months Ryder will be eating more food and gaining some weight. We sure do love this little boy and are so thankful to have him in our lives.
If he eats good and finishes his food quick he gets to go play in the playroom.

His awesome therapist Helene pushing him around the building :)
Coloring waiting for his swallow study appointment.

Talking to a therapist about what he's going to do.

Blanding

This last weekend we decided to go to Blanding and get the rest of our stuff from our storage unit down there. Clayt and I went out camping Friday night and the boys stayed with Grandma Marcia. It was super windy all night and we slept in our tent cot lol and about 9 Saturday morning it started raining and then turned to snow. Friday we stopped to do some hiking for sheds and found one set about 100 yds away from the truck we were pretty stoked but didn't find anything else after that. We decided to go find a place to camp. Clayt bought stuff for tacos but forgot a spatula so he smashed a soda can and put a screw driver in it for the handle lol. Saturday we packed up all our crap in the freezing rain and drove around for awhile and decided to get out and hike around some more to see if we could find some more sheds. We hiked for a couple hours in the wind/snow/rain/hail whatever it decided to do at the moment lol It was FREEZING and we didn't fine one horn. I guess we found a tiny really old deer horn but that's not worth freezing your butts off for ha we saw a lot of rubs but no sheds. Clayt was pretty pissed since this was his first time out in a couple years he blamed mother nature lol. We decided to head back into town before we got snowed on the mountain. It was a muddy mess in most parts and snow in some. We were sliding everywhere even by the edges. I was getting nervous especially when we got close to go off the edge twice. Clayt was nervous too I told him how can I relax when my driver is nervous too ha. Almost 3 hours later we finally made it back into town. It usually only takes us about an hour and a half ha We spent the evening at Clayts sisters just talking and having a good time. Since it was a blizzard Saturday night we didn't pack up all our stuff until Sunday morning. We were so full top to bottom front of the truck to the back of the trailer, we had to leave one kid behind ;) Range ended up getting to stay with Grandma Marcia and will be with her all week :)
The reservoir pulling in to Blanding. It's soo low.
 The horns ATL ;)

Not too shabby for my first

 I was so freaking cold.

Cleared up for about 14 minutes but the wind was still blowing like crazy.

Clayts sheds he's found throughout the years. They've been in storage he's pretty excited to have them at our house. Me not so much ha
